Sango Kaku is my favorite maple cultivar. would love to see more pics. And if anyone knows of and can suggest a source for some good starts / pre-bonsai material (no graphs) let me know.

I too like Sango Kaku. Had one in the ground for two years, until the moving truck broke the branches off of the big oak directly above it. It then decided to die. Guess it was the sudden change in sunlight. Mine always had nicely shaped smaller leaves too.

Brian I believe I saw that one on ebay. Is that a coral bark variety? The limbs look rather orangey-yellow. Yes made up that word.Here's some spring color of a maple I have for sale at the moment... Everything looks nice in spring

The growers didn't know the variety, but it does seem to look like BIHOU to me, which is a type of coral bark with orange leaves. It's really pretty.
