This time of year is so bitter sweet. Excited for repots, upcoming summer growth and collecting. But the bitter part is the almost daily afternoon winds. Our topography and fast surface temp rises create a toxic mix in the atmosphere that manifests in awful spring winds.
It’s not every day. But many days. Typically the winds max out at 25/30 mph gusts. But days like today are what make it so awful. 55/60 mph gusts.
So I either set trees on the ground, place bricks on pot surfaces or tie them down to the bench or monkey poles. I learned my lesson many years ago.
