For the maples I setup a deal between a Swedish garden center and a large bonsai importer here in NL; I picked out 140 trees for them, arranged shipping and got paid in trees for doing it.

The Chojubai came by just acting as a "good neighbour". The old boy is 83 years old and I take him to the eye hospital, take him shopping (and help him financially there), fix his computer etc... We'd all do it.

Very cool...to be paid in trees. My husband does work for one business for gift cards for their food place. It's the only place he does it, because we all love eating there. Puts a new meaning for "will work for food."

I was curious if that was a chojubai. It had that "look" to it. Glad to hear that the friendship there...is mutual and well balanced. Sounds like a nice fella.
