BTW excuse my ignorance, but do you get paid if I click on the ads in the app. I don't mind clicking through to Temu now and then if it helps the site.

So here's the official position. Yes, the site makes money if you click on an ad. However, if I tell people to click on ads it breaks my agreement with Google. Only click on an ad if you are interested in the ad. Better yet, click on it if you are interested and buy something. Then it becomes a win/win - the advertiser pays money for advertising, and they generate additional sales from the site and they will get reports that say "if you advertise on bonsainut.com you will sell more stuff".
I cannot click on ads on the site for the same reason - it appears like I am trying to create false revenue. However I happily admit - there are times when ads pop up for stuff that I definitely am interested in - particularly greenhouses, garden products, etc. I have to leave the site and find the same product via a different channel.
