Am curious , what kind of pots and sizes do you guys use for shohin development of pines mostly .

I have some JWP in nursery pots been developing for some years and next potting - am planning to get some Tokoname Grow pots #7 - 8 inch x 4 inch . But wanna know what do you guys use for shohin development pots

Regards,
Abhishek

Depends on what youre working on developing. if trunk, i go a tad over sized in a grow pot or a box. if branches and beyond i would find a pot close to what youre envisioning it to be in and go from there. maybe a bit larger a tad than what you would want for a show pot ofc.

Thank you for reply . Well thickening trunk is always the goal . So you think going with something around 10 inch or 11 inch like a #11 Tokoname grow pot is better ?

That is about the size terra cotta pots I use for developing smaller trees.
