This tree came pre wired and bare rooted from Japan, the white pine is is not grafted , we set it on heat mats for a few weeks and buds are finally pushing. Gonna be in this pot for a few years obviously and also wire will stay on at least a year. Will be recovering until frosts end then will sit on my bench at home.

Really nice!

Looking forward to watching this tree progress over time. Is this tree a standard JWP or a semi dwarf cultivar? I have a dwarf JWP “Myojo” with small needle bundles somewhat similar to this tree.

cheers

I believe this is standard JWP but let me confirm

This tree ended up not surviving import..
none of the white pines did unfortunately.. we don’t have misters set up so we used a trash bag technique but I don’t think that works . Next year we will try again with white pines , but are trying to obtain maples , junipers and black pines both domestically and Japan.

So sorry to hear this. It was a promising tree.

Hopefully the next ones will be hardier.

Cheers
