Seedling
I've had this shishi air layering since last summer; it failed to root by November, so I had to scrape the bark and reapply hormone and sphagnum. I checked on its progress 2 weekends ago, and found it only had one root, which was about 1" long and coming from a section of the callus that had almost bridged the gap. I scraped the bark, applied more hormone, and packed the sphagnum back as best I could. Now, my all the leaves on my tree are curling and I'm worried I'm going to lose the whole tree. Here's what it looks like now:
Here's what it looked like the day before I had to rework the air layer (April 21st)
And here's it back on March 15th:
It has been in the same spot for at least 3 weeks, and only gets morning-noon(ish) sun. I noticed the moss on top had dried some earlier this week, so I watered the moss ball. None of the other trees around it are displaying similar symptoms. Any suggestions what I can do to save the tree?
