Three nights, averaging 28... has killed off new deciduous growth thoroughly “blitzed” conifer tips ALL over, in the landscape... I was right to “step”

🤓
I'm scared to go see what the last three nights have done to my landscape plants. 😔

Forecast called for another freeze..Just 32

So veggies, annuals, seedlings and “non-Sconsin” trees/plants got “stepped“... i’m glad I did.EFA0FA92-A665-486B-A5A6-7AA3CB7615BA.png

Not a misprint at 4:55pm Southern Ohio has this creek and township on OH 23 we pass on our way to Columbus.
This is Drew one of our newer weather guys from Wyoming. Seems like a pretty cool guy.

It's a rain-n-wane week, yay for my freshly repotted trees
boo for the winds that accompany most storms in these transitional months.
Strong straight line winds and an unlikely spin up could occur, forecasted below.
We're supposed to get 2-3 in of rain in 2 days. Unlike the South, that's a lot for us.

So if it didn't rain anymore today, I wouldn't (may not) have to water till the middle of next week or longer.

Temperature swings, anyone?
Seeing the highs become to low overnight really is interesting.
Been a crazy ride this spring

I was hoping to get the trops out this week, but with below normal temps and lows in the 40's all week, not quite yet.

I'm tired of Summer already. Had 3 late frost warnings last week.
Typically May 10th or Mothers Day is our last chance for frost.
Last week we had frost May 12, 13 and 14th. Widespread on the 13th, patchy otherwise,
now calling for a string of 5+ days of near 90ºF. Our heatwaves are categorized by four 90º days in a row.
We had 30 90+ days last year, forecasting 32 this year with a 30 year avg of 20.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -One of the wettest months of the year has turned into a dud in 2021 as the first 18 days of May have mustered only a little more than an inch so far. Granted that could turn around with a single downpour, but the stark reality is that we will be lucky to see any appreciable rain the next 5 days. And since dry Mays can lead to scorching summers, the forecast for near 90 degree heat starting late week and lasting thru the weekend into next week comes as no surprise. :(
