I picked up this dwarf olive pre-bonsai because of all the branches.. it even has on that is growing down. However, I am not sure what to do now. Any ideas or suggestions on shaping? Thank you.

For the time being I would focus on keeping it healthy, let it grow for a while and study the growth habits. In the meantime you may come up with a vision for it. It is not as apically dominant as most trees, it will back bud but not where you would expect. I was going to link a thread to mine but I see I never made one. It really isn't anything special. I will attach a few pictures. One picture is March 2020, the next is February 2021 and the last is June 2023. I am fairly happy with it, my only regret would be not letting it grow for the first year or two just to learn a little more about it and to let it thicken up more before chopping.

I have been growing a dwarf black olive for about a year and it is growing well. I’m in the southeast US, so it stays outside during summer and comes inside for winter. I have not been able to find info on when to repot this species. Summer or winter?
