I like to create this topic to share with you the technique to show the branch structure through the picture ! As you already know, there are a flat effect on the subject image when it was taken a picture. Because of that, it is very difficult to show branch structure detail. With taking a picture of the tree’s shadow on the ground in the direct sunlight 45 degree to the tree, the whole branch structure can be shown. I love this effect because it almost likes sketching!
I have been using this technique on my tamarix for 2 years. Because tamarix has very complex branch structure, its shadow picture is the best way to study its branches I think .
