Scots Pine #47 - an exiting new project. This pine was collected in May of 2022 in Sweden. The first styling today was quite dramatic and looks very promising. The virtual shows the tree without the support stuff. Of course this is just the beginning of a long journey. To continue now immediately would not be prudent as the styling trauma is strong and the tree has to recover. The trunk line is splendid. There is enough flesh on the top to style any crown. more than I will need. But Scots Pines tend to give up a couple of branches after this and I don't know which ones In two years the styling will be finished and then the tree can go onto the final slab or pot in three years. We'll see and report.TSD_0161xv.jpgTSD_0148x.jpgTSD_0150x.jpgTSD_0152x.jpgTSD_0155x.jpgTSD_0158x.jpgTSD_0161x.jpgTSD_0161xv.jpg

Is there a timeframe for support removal when readjusting the trunk line like this? I wonder what you look for to determine when the trunk has set - just loss of downward pressure on the supports?

Nice trunk movement. The tree is quite beautiful. I wish you well on your journey together, good sir.

The tree decides this. Usually after twop or three years the stuff can be removed.

Great tree!! Do you know which month is best for collecting Scot pine yamadori? And which month do you do the heavy bending?

You are from Denmark: collecting by end of June to end of August is the best in your place. Heavy bending bes in summer from end of June to end of August.
