Rubber Bonsai !

I was in Meijers, its a store similar to Wally mart, and I was looking for some velcro when I seen a dozen rubber bonsai in pots, all were exactly the same although there were three different color pots. They were not even good examples of Bonsai although they looked real, they looked like a chinese import you could buy at a big box store for $24.99. I was thinking why the hell would they copy such a cheesy Bonsai, why not fake a great little shohin Bonsai. Then I seen three that were each a little different shape and a lighter color green foliage, I touched one and about half the needles fell off, somehow three little junipers were mixed in with the rubber fakes and had dried out and died. Well at least the rubber ones were still looking good...

I agree. I have also noted this numerous times when people use bonsai imagery on signage, or logos (like for martial arts studios, etc). They almost always show bad bonsai. It's almost as funny as when people mistakenly use the term "bonsai" when they really mean "banzai".
