rough stock options-wadya think

No way I would lose a trunk at this time, I would train it as is and see how it comes along. Very unique.

At the proper time I would take this to a workshop with a good teacher, this tree will make everyone smile.
No teacher designs for me--the thought repulses me. Teachers, for me, are useful for learning technique, to learn from the analysis of their works but not the submission to their imposed designs (even if it maybe superior). I think workshops based on this have to go. I think they should be based on collective analysis, learning technique and horticultural education. In some obscure interview with Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin) they were talking of a recent a post-Zep Plant solo project in which he explained how he wanted to pull in Jimmy page to work on some of the guitar parts. In the discussion, he explained that he did not want a collaboration he "just wanted to rent his sleaze". That's kind of my position with these talented teachers and demo dorks, we should all move to squeezed them for a little of their juice and let it inspire, motivate and enrich us, not rob us of the essence of artistic experience through subjugation. The exception would be intense single teacher training where the premise is to submit then later move up-- we should all endeavor to unsubmittally rent their sleaze--rant over.

Very nice material! I have just created a virtual image of what I would aim for if it was my tree. Tilt the tree about 60 degrees clockwise, jin the lowest right side branch. Carve away some of the left trunk to make it less bulky and it already has deadwood.

What do you think of this idea? I have no clue whether or not it would be possible with the roots on this tree. :)

What about an old railroad bridge running through the center?

Sorce

Or an arched walkway with a cobbled path on each end... that might look cool... you're such a visionary Sorce.

I like this type of thinking. The tree looks very dynamic and captivating.

Being very serious David, you have some very nice material in your growing bed. Have you worked it or did you collect it and just let it grow?

Very nice, wish I had quality stuff like this in my backyard,I'd keep both trunks if it were mine, good luck

I would never in a million years think to turn that thing into bonsai. makes me wonder how often I walk past incredible material haha.

Took a shot of a large inground larch that I am thinking of digging up come spring. Please contribute with design suggestions. Some options: kill off L trunk, save L trunk reduce to lowest point, remove everything on R except 2nd lowest thick branch, throw in brush chipper...etc etc.
