Happened to be in a local nursery yesterday and saw this JM on the discount rack for $50. I now have another tree. The graft really isn't bad and I liked the nebari. It will be styled as a broom. Nothing to do with it now other than get it ready for winter.

In the nursery you got it from, what do they do with them over winter?

Nice looking start for a broom style tree. Winter is very near as the temperatures begin a steady dropping direction.
Spring is right around the corner.

I believe they bring in them into a large shed. I plan on adding mine to the mulch pile.

Funny thing is my wife doesn't even blink anymore when I bring home a tree. The mission was to get my 10 year old plants for his terrarium. Mission accomplished and I found a tree. "Figured" was the wife's response.

I cut the branches back in an attempt to start the broom. Branches on the left had some lower buds and they are growing. Right side is just starting to backbud.
