It’s good most of your trees are still in the ground - it buys you time to learn how to properly care for them as bonsai and come up with a long term maintenance strategy.
My biggest issue is that most of my trees (or what’s survived my over-zealousness) are now in pots, so long term maintenance issues, such as care while on travel, is a challenge. I’m hoping I can join my local bonsai association and bring the trees to someone’s house who is retired/has time to waters almost daily.
