Repotting seedlings Pictures

Is there a reason why I shouldn't use 35% peat and 65% 1/8 th inch lava rock for the body of my pots? the lava rock by it'self in a pot with no root system stayed wet for 3 days by itself in nothing but the 1/8th in size in the pot.

I added the hydroton to hte mix for two reasons, the plants love the stuff and it wicks moisture up or down (depending on where the moisture is) hoping it would balance out my lava rock peat mixture.

I also used 1/16'th inch lava rock for the top half inch 3/4ths inch of each pot to deal with erosion and a little protection for the rest of the pot, was this a decent idea?

Pine tree pulled out of the ground like a weed in october, grown in partical sun and supplimental florecent light all winter

I had this in one of the tiny seedling pots full of dirt when I first planted it noticed it wasn't drying out so I just pulled it out of that pot and planted it in a bonsai pot my mom had with a layer of hydroton then fishtank rock and chiken grit for the rest of it, I just added some more grit to it after the dirt washed down. It's been lookin sad in the little pot snese I put it outdoors so I decided to put it in a bigger pot.

a willow cutting off of a tree in town I took this spring thats been drowning, I've repotted drowning plants befor in this state and it's saved them lets hope this little bugger recovers.

I planted it in some stuff I had recovered from other repots and dead cuttings, thought I had all the peat out of it so I was watering it quite often not noticing that there was allways water down in the drip tray under the orcid pot it was in feeding the pot water, and today I noticed it wilted and watered it because it's the first really hot day we've had this year, then I took a closer look at the leaves and noticed it was showing signs of over watering rather than under =0 oops
