Repot Azalea During Clip-and-Grow Process

This is a deciduous azalea. You can't really keep it short, so some long thin branches have to be part of the design. I'd probably also remove the middle trunk. And then fix the taper in the transition and create a design where it can get a bit tall and sparse.

Correct. Deciduous with a deep red flower. See initial pic that has a smattering of blooms. It now makes more sense why it didn't play out like I expected. Going to give it some thought on next steps. Thank you, @Deep Sea Diver and @Glaucus. This is valuable information and greatly appreciated.
