Starting a thread based on work I’m doing at Kifu. Will have more to post as other trees are styled , and repotting begins in spring. First tree is a oriental spruce that I’m giving a make over on, too needs to be regrown but basic structure is set. One day it’s going on a slab, tried to capture the in page if angle best I could but was busy. One challenge is that I’m using aluminum wire as to not waste copper on some of the trees. Guy wires, raffia and tape are helping. After & Before

Next up is what I’m still working on today , an old nursery stock Alberta spruce that was donated to the studio from someone who stopped practicing bonsai. It’s getting a total revamp as well. Still not finished but the basic structure is set. I wanted to close the gaps of the long leggy branch’s and alpine affect. Not ideal spruce for bonsai but hey I’ll try my best.I chose a new angle and front for the tree.. it use to be slanted to the left. Will be doing more tertiary branches in a few weeks to let it rest for now. After & Before

Once I’m finished what I can this season on Alberta spruce , Other trees I was tasked to style are wa Mugo pine, JBP, Doug Fir ,and Juniper stay tuned. Please provide feedback and thoughts on the styling , especially as this thread progresses.

*Spraypaints "HorseloverFat was here" on the wall.* (To be informed of updates.)

Better than what I USED to spraypaint on walls at the ages of 18-20

Repotted the beech forest and brought out some big pines today. Choosing display areas and trees for certain areas in the yard depending on sun or shade, even by how important it is , is an exercise I enjoy doing

Finally was able to put sphagnum around this American Beech forest I repotted. This is the lead apprentice Bruce driving it over on a converted lawn mower cart
