Post Your Weeping Tree

You can't kill a fig by killing some branches, so worse case, it goes back to a literati. Best case? It leafs out in my weeping form and I'm invited to Japan by the Emperor, I get to spend a week in touring Japan and being fêted by Masters and asked to create one like it for the Nation Exhibit. Or, I wake up.

Update city. Ta-a-a Dah!

Complete failure. Here, now semi-recovered. Below, as in death of almost all the wired branches.

My incompetence or some things a Fig just won't do?

First, I apologize for the atrocious pictures. Messed my foot up a bit and just going out to take these pictures was a bit of an effort. Secondly, I apologize for the fact that this bonsai is just at the very beginning of its training as a weeping tree. Very soon I will be rewiring it and changing the guys and weights. When I do I will get some decent pictures. This is a 30 year old Korean Hornbeam. I used some fishing sinkers this summer to drop the branches and those branches are doing very well. It needs a ton of work, obviously. I just wanted to add it to the list. Honestly, I don't know what I am going to get, but I know what I am looking for.

This is not a “weeping tree”, but it looks like one.

It’s a Mino Yatsabusa Trident Maple.

The shape of the leaves, and the long petiole of the leaves make it look like a weeping tree.

Here’s the winter image:

It was a humorous remark. I'm star-struck by the beauty of it. If that's not obviously a beautiful example of making a great bonsai out of a un-bonsai species, I don't know what is. Lighten up. Have a nice day.

So I see now you are talking about the rosemary. There was no allusion to that plant so the humorous remark failed on me.
If I was any lighter I would be floating. :)
