Post collection soil mix for a pine

So if I went pure pumice, what about particle size? I would think a smaller size would be better to allow for recovery and growth of feeder roots, right? If so, how small?

Dry Stall is easy to get, cheap, and works well and of course is Pumice. The particle size varies a bit in the same bag similar to fish tank gravel. Also easy to get at any local farm supply. It is pumice and honest you would think it was made for Bonsai and not for Equines. It does not mater East or West Coast because it is distributed everywhere for people with horses... There was only one time our local Agway was out of it and they took my phone number and called me in two days when their order came in.
