Didn't know you guys were on vacation. We just got back ourselves.

@HorseloverFat Cool pic. I was looking at a common theme in some of your pics here recently.
There's a blue haze near the bottom of the pics, and it's just reflection of the sky but clever how it comes about.
Even, or especially in the one with your two kids walking down the 2 wheel trail.

This ^ is the 1st one I noticed it in and thought maybe you took it from inside a vehicle
but I can't explain the light glare here just to the right of the rhododendron at the bottom of the pic...

Hehe!! My family “vibrates” differently than most... this normally means we ATTRACT different spectral energies... or sum’thin like that.

Speaking of WV... are you familiar with Sugarlands and Holly Meadows Rd.?

Haha!!

There’s a whole thread about our trip!

(More pictures toward the end)

How was YOUR trip?

So we just got back from a couple of overnight trips.
1st was to my 1st bonsai work shop ever, and with Adair at that.
Then we went back up into Amish country at Walnut Ck, and Charm, OH
EDIT: and then on over to Annville, PA...
to finalize the table top for our dining table. Brought that home and waiting on
the walnut trestle base for it to be delivered with the chairs as well in guesstimating a month.

It's just resting on top of our old hand me down red oak veneer table.
It will look very complete once the trestle and chairs are outfitted here.

I love it !

Would have perhaps chosen sturdier, more angular legs, but that's a beautiful table.
I will get pics when it comes in...

This is the walnut trestle we're waiting on delivery with the chairs.
Thank you :)

This fungus is pretty big growing out of a tree stump, anybody know what it is?

Identifying fungi from photos is difficult. Especially if you want to know if it is edible or not, the danger of a wrong guess is amplified. Key with identifying a fungi is to get photos of both the upper and lower surfaces. Whether it has pores underneath or gills underneath is as important as a distinction between the monocots and the dicots. That said, I'd look up "chicken of the woods" as a candidate.

As for the photo thread, a ponderosa pine from the August 2021 bonsai show at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I believe the tree is by Steve C of Milwaukee.

When I see your photos I can't but think that your kids will be nice people, even if they were painful adolescents - that is, I think, inevitable. But all the love you're giving them, all what you(re having them to enjoy will make them good people. Like you and their pale-face mother 😄

Stay like that, love is contagious, that's the only good disease. Om shanti om...

Makes me think of my twenties, I still love this song :
