It's a woody forest shrub I found in southern NYS. I can't seem to identify it.

White flowers exclude sumac.Take a look at Staghorn Sumac, Rhus typhina - it looks to be the same and is not uncommon in that region.

Rhus typhina has white stems. My pic shows red.There are several that bloom white, the Staghorn Sumac, Rhus typhina is just one and would be found in that region. Just my 2 cents
