"Pinch me"... neagari black pine

Great starting point! Do you have any direction and/or inspiration how you would style the tree in the future?

Absolutely none! This just fell into my lap. I need to be studying pine for inspiration...for when the time comes to work it. By then I hope to have a direction.

My husband was blown away at the size of the tree. He has also claimed it as his🥰.

(He is the reason I purchased it. He loves pine bonsai.) This to him is bragging rights to guests. I will do the horticulture and eventually techniques.

Thanks again @Adair M ... for making me feel more comfortable with this journey.

I think you posted this before right? Or.. where have I seen this?

Nice. Just be carefull.. People might think you have nothing but neagari style trees.

I can see this to develop using only the lowest branch on the left and the small first branch on the right. Be curious to see where you take this. Nice!

Correct...I shared the other side to the thread recently purchase. But clearly this has the most potential with this side in my opinion.

I've not given much thought to style as of yet. But imagine the lowest branch on the left may have a role. I've time to study pines while this gains energy. I am hoping to draw inspiration of certain aspects of what appeals to me and apply them to this tree. That is my goal...

Lol, the percentage of neagari/exposed root of some sort, totals 15 trees in my collection. High for some standards. But clearly my title has some truth to it. 😉

Very nice where did you get it from?
Came from out in California. I made contact...he looked, had nothing. Then the next day this found him. Surprised him even.

I give God the glory for every tree that hits my bench. When the guy said he had none...I had told God I was fine with that door closing. I felt blessed with my collection. I wasn't going to search out again. So...a God wink if you will. That this was found the next day by the one who didn't have any. That's how I see it.

Yes...my title I come by naturally. I'm in awe over the barking texture forming on these roots though. I can't stop going out and just looking at the roots. Thank goodness the cold greenhouse is only 11 steps from my front door right off the deck and into the enclosed gazebo.

I don't know the original owner. I reached out to a contact source. He had nothing...then the following day, come across this neglected JBP. 🤷‍♀️ It wasn't from his collection by the sounds of it. But offered it to me if I was interested. We made a sale...and that's about it.

Honest, I call it a God wink. Because I had decided...I was done looking. I had put feelers out to many avenues. With no tree to purchase. I was fine with his not having anything. I prayed...thanking God for the trees he has placed on my bench...and I was content. I was no longer hunting...and had a peace about it. My source was surprised by the tree as well. So it was a God wink...that came from California.

Rehabilitation completed...a nice healthy JBP. So took it in hand and worked it.

Soooo didn't realize we remove all candles. That it isn't like needle selection. 🤣🤣🤣 as I don't do pine. This was my first. Adair...bless him helped explain a few things. My ducks are all together now. 😉
