It’s in a mix of 1 bag Canadian Tire Qualisorb, one bag of Gardenworks Pumice and a half bag of Sea Soil.@Saddler What kind of soil did you plant it in when you collected it? Regular bonsai soil, or pumice, or something else? I'm looking to collect some white spruce from a friends property on the coast. They seem pretty hardy and grow in a wide variety of soils.
thanks for bringing this thread up. Im really interested to see this tree.Update?!?! Such a killer tree!
Oh yea. I agree. But I also disagree. I kind of have an idea to incorporate all three dead trunks, but I get what you are saying. For now I am just waiting for it to start pushing new growth and the styling is just something I ponder until then. I suspect the branch on the left is going to die, so I am not investing that much energy into its future until it shows me it has some vigour and I see what is what. This deadwood is just outstanding! One comment: two dead side trunks seem at odds with all downsloping branches on dead trunk

I am very anxious to start working on it, but not nearly as anxious as I am about setting it back again. At least every year I wait, my options become a little more clear. Mostly with @Walter Pall picture progressions showing me appropriate branch lengths and tree dimensions. I do hope he posts more new spruce to study.Completely understood. High hopes for your tree. Personally just did first ever major prune and installed 3 wires on Bristlecone after debating with self and vacillating at least 3 years to do anything. Very satisfying to be done at last.
Unfortunately we have a pesky boarder between us.I call “dibs” if you do!
For real.
Take my money!
Well, if you cannot sell it to hemi, sell it to me!Unfortunately we have a pesky boarder between us.
Personally very easily got a cross border AG permit to USA from Canada. Very cheapUnfortunately we have a pesky boarder between us.
