photo upload issue

testing photo upload again

I don't get it, the photos seem to be uploading quickly, the only unusual behavior I'm seeing is the waring message.

Same here. Been seeing the error message since Dec. 19 but pics are uploaded anyway.

Here is a direct link down load from IMGUR.

HU5zWT7.jpg

I tried to download direct off my computer and this is what I got: Warning: Declaration of vB_Image_Magick::fetch_image_info() should be compatible with that of vB_Image_Abstract::fetch_image_info() in ..../includes/class_image.php on line 1256.

The same photo that I down loaded above was refused in lieu of this Declaration of Blah blah blah

Vance, I get the same message when I use the regular uploader, but the image still loads. After I get that message, I close the little upload window and then click the "preview" or "post" button and the image posts as it normally does, despite the message.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything from Greg since this seems to be impacting lots of users.

Edit to add - NOT SO FAST! Image uploading just failed when I tried to attach an image to this post. Error messages that came back were:

Warning: Declaration of vB_Image_Magick::fetch_image_info() should be compatible with that of vB_Image_Abstract::fetch_image_info() in ..../includes/class_image.php on line 1256

Warning: Declaration of vB_Image_GD::fetch_image_info() should be compatible with that of vB_Image_Abstract::fetch_image_info() in ..../includes/class_image.php on line 2488

testing yet again

OK Greg, if you're paying attention - when I upload an image to a new post, it seems to work despite the error message.

When I tried to upload an image while editing an existing post, it failed completely.

Something ain't right!

I just tried to upload an image to your posting and got the error message and no image.

Let's try a virgin post:

I can't get an image to upload at all.

Use a host like postimage.org or so until the problem is fixed:

70 degrees - winter in Florida ;)

Best,
Dorothy

It stinks because for some reason this photo host is blocked on my works wifi. I have to wait to get home to see some of your pictures.

I use IMGUR. It works really well and it's free.

this time,..it worked.

Was trying to post a bunch of pics from Monday's visit to the Pacific Bonsai Museum. I'll try more later. At least,..one went through.

Above is the link to IMGUR a photo hosting site that I use. It is free and works very well. You simply drag and drop your photos to the site follow the instructions and you can down load some really nice photos to this site from there.

Above in the menus bar in three rows----in the second row there is an icon that looks like a picture hanging on the wall---fourth group over from the left, click on that icon.----

and you will get images like this one. You can actually get larger ones if you desire but I have found this size downloads well and does not lose elements on the down load.

If you need help once you get there let me know.

Let's try again: Well it worked but it was really messy. I think someone has to find a way to solve the problem.

Sorry everyone. I have been busy with a pile of other things. We had a security alert with the server on the 22nd so I can only assume that while we scanning and checking everything some of the files may have been changed and it caused some minor incompatibilities.

I think I am familiar with this particular bug and I should be able to fix it quickly as soon as I have about an hour free. It has to deal with php sending a "warning" message when certain conditions are met. It is kind of like a false red flag... even though you don't have a bug, php doesn't like what you did with the code so it generates a warning. The warning itself turns out to cause more problems than the original issue :) So if you turn off the warnings, suddenly everything works fine :)

It's all good!

There's almost as many Pi c s here as The Tree Thread!

Merry Holidays BNUT!

Thank you!

Christmas present and photo upload test...
---fail----

Thanks for this site. With all it's bugs and twitchy follow throughs it's still the best place in town.

For what it's worth, some of these issues are due to the software package used and NOT due to bonsainut, per se. I just did a fresh install of the vbulletin software in other web space - using generic code and their most current release, with no customizations, no mods, etc - and I STILL had issues.

Image Testing

This is a test of an image uploaded as an attachment. Worked in 5 seconds with no error or warning messages.
