Here in Delaware, under the timber trespass statute, landowners are entitled to treble damages, plus attorneys' fees. Hopefully, there's a similar law on the books wherever that happened in the UK.

How a 16 year old can do that. This tree is not near any parking lot... I thought it take 20 minutes walk to get to it right?

It is sad and people are stupid…. But… sycamores are hard to kill trees… it should backbud and keep on growing. In another 200 years it should be back to its former glory.

This was my thought also. Did a 16-year-old kid walk out to this tree in the middle of the night with a powerful enough chainsaw and a 6 foot bar and chop this thing down by himself? The cut alone looks incredibly clean. Feels a little mysterious to me quite frankly.
