Bought a nursery parsons juniper to mess two years ago. I've been gradually working down the foliage and bending/twisting to a semi-cascade. I'm still a beginner, I appreciate any feedback on the species, my styling, wiring, etc!

The plan is to repot next spring into something deeper, but I'm struggling with the style of pot to compliment the twisty trunk and features.

Something like this?

Or taller like this style

Thanks!

I like option one better. Nice work on that Parsons. I have a few ive been messing with. I like the vigor. This year I've decided to let em run wild. Maybe even 2 years then the start grafting on shimpaku

I have two if these.
I actually like the juvenile foliage over the adult.

After seeing yours it helped me find a direction to one of mine. The jins need work in a bad way, that was some old practice stuff.
ill get a little more aggressive with the wire this fall too. While I saw the path forward I figured id get those branches pushed towards the right way

I don't think either pot is suitable...
And they are both way too big.

You gotta shop for size and style at the same time.

If it's a pot you can get exactly the same in different sizes...
Smash it ! It's definitely not suitable!

Don't find a style you like in a size too big!

Both both....same same...
