Nightmare on Olive street (Warning, 18+ only thread)

So.. This week we have had some weather fronts passing through the region. And olathough they brought me hardly any rain, the wind wat tremendous. I had several pots fly around in my garden, amongst which this olive which spent a few hours laying in a corner without substrate in the pot.

That gave me a GREAT moment to check upon root formation.

Nothing at all. No callus. No whit spot on the bark. Nothing. It was as if I made the cut yesterday.

With a short heatspell around the corner (Talk is 90-100F next week) this is a perfect moment to trigger something I would say.

Anybody any tips on how to make the most out of a period of seriously warm weather before we enter the fall period called "summer" in our northern part of the world?

One month ago I did a silly thing and peeked. I had one root. No groeth but still all leaves!
I just acquired a small olive recently and have been trying to read up on them. I saw a thread earlier where, I think it was @Wires_Guy_wires_guywires ? recounted some old olives that had no roots and sat for a couple of years before rooting/showing growth.

Yeah. But they do root eventually. They just need a bit better conditions to root quickly than we can offer in the north with relatively cool summers. I fully expect to find lots of growth in spring and a ball of roots next summer.

They had roots! But they were assumed to be dead, so we spray painted "the corpses", they did nothing for 1-4 years before they suddenly started growing again.

Couldn't you have layered the widest part?
