Hi all,
I acquired this big bougie trunk about a month ago and potted in apl 111 from a friend in San Diego and he dug itbup about 2 months ago to this date. I live in Illinois zone 5a and I did covered with a bag for about 2 weeks and finally took it of slowly and moving it to sun slowly about 2 weeks ago. I water once a week with super thrive (and it has been raining alot so not that much water) and I started adding bougain in last week. Today I notice the bark seem mushy, so I picked the bottom bark up and these were larvae and small white eggs looking alike (also smell bad.)
should I removed the top layer of my soil and see if these are more rotting, or just peel off more of the barks on the trunk to spray it with a fungicide and pesticides?
Any better step to help this bougie out please let me know before I could mess up things. Thank you all.

I can just tell you what I would do. I have dealt with this before. Mix 3% peroxide and water 50/50 and water the plant with this until soaked. Put it in full sun and hope for the best.
