My dwarf umbrella tree that I’ve had for 2.5 years isn’t doing well

This tree was the first bonsai I ever got. I took horrible care of it for a while and recently started learning a little more. I was going to repot it soon because I noticed some roots curling around the pot but I cut one that was sticking out of the soil. After I cut it, the tree started to look like this.

I have a humidifier going in the room but the humidity sits at about 50%. I don’t have a plant room, all the rooms in my house are used so I have nothing just for plants. The tree is indoors because it’s too cold outside, but once the weather gets better I bring it out. I water it once - twice a week and more often when it’s warmer. I use this blue bottle of fertilizer and fertilize it once every couple of weeks in the spring and summer till mid fall. It’s at an east facing window. I have no room or space for a proper grow light

I just saw you posed more info in an earlier thread. Put that tree in loose, aerated soil, and use a garbage bag to make a makeshift greenhouse and seal in the humidity. Give it a moderate amount of water and let all of the excess water drain out; then seal it up and hope for the best. If the bag is tied shut, you shouldn’t need to open it to add any water. Use chopsticks or something so the bag doesn’t touch the leaves.

I have a plastic storage container that I use as a greenhouse for cuttings. Could I possibly use that? I gave it new soil already and cut off any roots that looked rotted

The mottling of the leaves looks like spider mite. If it is, it is only one of the problems. It is not a demanding plant and does not need high humidity. I think you have a soil / root issue.

There’s no webbing on it or any of the plants around it. The soil is the original soil so it may be finally breaking down and suffocating the roots. It has barely any. I repot it
