This is how I would do it .
expose the cutting and wrap the root system with some flax ,so the root also have some sand material covering them ( make sure the sand is wet before doing it )
then wrap the root system with insulation tape
Wrap the entire cutting in bubble wrap and put in evelope etc

post in normal evelope ( international mail etc.. )
hopefully it come through

I’m not worried about how to protect them during shipping as much as what it takes to mail plants out of the country.

Ah! No. Somehow I killed it. .

My willows never seem to last in a smallish pots for long. I have a cutting off one in the ground that I have made into a raft style tree only been in a pot for one year already have massive die back in the main trunk. All the little sub-trunks /branches are picking up Vigor as the main trunk dies off. I don't expect it to last past 3 years.. all the smaller cuttings I've taken have died in under two years. Just my experience tho I totally could be doing something wrong i suppose..

Yeah, this totally makes sense. It didn’t seem like I was under watering it. I knew it was a willow. I soaked it all the time.

I suspect that it got two dense in there, and I was unable to fully saturate the roots.
