Buying those two year pines is a lot better idea in my opinion. Still bendable, and it is almost the same as starting from a blank canvas but save two years of looking at a seed grow into the same sapling you can buy for cheap.

You can purchase a 2 year seedling for 8.95 on eBay. I have a tree similar to yours that a so called bonsai dealer sold me 5 years ago, I planted it in the old ladies yard who lives next to me. You are lucky you only paid 24.95, the scam charged me 50. She had a bunch of trees destroyed in her backyard and I got sick of looking at the rip off I purchased.
