Hi people.
bought this maple recently. I did not know we had this kind of maple here in sunny South Africa. Does anyone have any experience with miyabe maple? I've done some research and it seems to be the eastern cousin of Acer Campestre. Any info will be extremely helpful.
I'm very excited about developing this tree, I really like that this species has buttery yellow fall colour.
I wired the thick-ish bottom right branch and found that the branch was very supple fir it's size.
Love trying out new species!
It's a bit of a big one. It's planted in terrible garden soil, so I will be repotting it next spring into akadama and pumice.
here is a pic of it at the grower very early in spring

it grew very well since then, and when I got it last week, you couldn't see the tree for the leaves

I did some Initial pruning on it to see what I wanted to use and what can be removed later.

as you guys can see that upper portion of the trunk has some horrible reverse taper. I do plan to airlayer below where the reverse taper starts, use the layer as a possible mother plant for cuttings...
did a stupid virt of it:

here is a few shots from different angles:

Any comments and advice welcome
Best regards
