I neglected to post this sooner. The Milwaukee Bonsai Society show and sale is at the Lynden Sculpture garden ending today at 4 pm. Get there if you have time this afternoon. Lynden Sculpture Garden or Park is north of Milwaukee, about a mile west of Highway 43 on the south side of Brown Deer Road. Admission and parking are FREE, very different than the steep parking fee charged by the Chicago Botanic Garden.
There are some very nicely done trees, in my opinion, the quality of these trees is as good as the quality of the Chicago Show, only there are fewer trees. There are only about 50 trees on display, about a third the size of the Chicago Show. The 30+ trees in the open category are quite good. And the 20 or so trees in the Novice category show good progress with young material.
So if you have time TODAY, it is the last day, and closes at 4 pm. Mark Fields was judge, there are a couple vendors selling bonsai & supplies, Ancient Arts (Ron Fortman) and Wisco Bonsai (Kevin Stoevoken).
Best in Show, White Bark Birch, Betula sp.
Blue Ribbon - Coast Redwood

Calamondin orange - Citrus mitis

Juniper

Ponderosa

Larch

Limber pine
