Metasequoia trunk development

I believe that both Metasequoia glyptostroboides and Taxodium distichum can be developed to have strong taper in bonsai pot. If you are willing to take time (15 years or more), you can have that strong taper without the big chop scars.
In my case, I chose to accept the chop scar to shorten the development time.

Actually read a few of your threads just yesterday and visited your dawn redwood "sale", your material seems really promising, with nice taper.

Oh and also what I wanted to mention, the three is going to be bigger obviously, since I think on medium trees this effect wont work, the tree has to be larger for this to work?
