Hi,
I wish You all a Merry Christmas and if you are going to be bored from watching "Love Actually" you may find some of my recent videos interesting during the holiday breaks. Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks

Yesterday I published the third part of the deciduous yamadori collecting series, covering a range of topics from choosing material, tools, weather, and aftercare in a scope I thought would be sufficient for newcomers coming to this part of our hobby to understand and navigate through the beginning. Maybe I missed something so I may add more episodes along the way.
Let me know if you have any recommendations for technical aspects or topics covered. Cheers.

I put together video about maples development in boxes. When I started using them I was inspired by threads here by @clem
He was so generous and allowed me to use some of his pictures.
If you have some time during your morning coffee time you may find it useful.

Two weeks ago, I had the honour of attending a Masterclass with Walter Pall in Munich, Germany. During my stay, I filmed a few short videos. In case you are interested, you can find them on my YouTube Channel.
Here’s the series on YouTube:

Walter Pall and Jonas Dupuich discuss Candelabra Spruce Bonsai
Discussion with Jonas Dupuich focusing on techniques and decisions in styling a candelabra spruce.

Walter Pall TRANSFORMS His Iconic Naturalistic Pine
The transformation of a famous naturalistic pine caused various reactions when Walter published it online.
In this video, he explains his reasoning behind this dramatic change and provides his vision for the future of the tree

Walter Pall and Jenifer Price discuss restyled spruce bonsai collected from the wild as yamadori bonsai.
Walter Pall and Randy Knight, renowned collectors of yamadori trees from the USA, found this spruce in the Tyrolian Alps in 2007.
The tree, originally standing as a twin-trunk bonsai, unfortunately lost one of its trunks.
How has the ageing process affected design, and where is the soul of the tree? Is the story of the soul important for the artist or not?

Jonas Dupuich works on a Tsuga yamadori bonsai tree, originally collected from the northern islands of Japan.
You can see the discussion before the work and later see the evaluation of the result.

It was a truly inspiring experience, and I hope these clips capture some of the atmosphere and knowledge that Walter shared with us.

looks amazing. Would love to attend one day, but understand it is invitation only?

I have to ask, did you have a shorter video with Walter and Jonas that you took down? I feel like I watched another one, then couldn't find it again.

I highly appreciate the info you provided in your "devloping acers in boxes" movie of June 30th, where you provide clear insights on whether to grow the tree on its own roots or use a grafted tree and grow it on; only to airlayer it much later when the trunk has developed significantly. Top tip (!)

Yes, you are right. Walter is organizing it in Thomas Haering garden near Munich and invitations are done solely by him.

We have visitors from all over Germany regularly though. Visitors are watching the workshop, taking the pictures, filming. Some are employed to help on larger trees with wiring and so on.

Came across this Q&A with Walter Pall. Good stuff and that tree is amazing.

That was filmed in Croatia in January in workshop of Andrija Zokic. I'm glad you liked the video.

I haven't actually. More people were filming shorter stuff for social networks, Andrija Zokic was filming and taking a lot of pictures. Also Jennifer Price was filming some of the moments on the phone and posting on FB/Instagram.

I'm glad you find it helpful. I'm working on many maples in boxes, i copied the idea from Clem here. Works well for me, some box projects are promising. Thanks
