"Live oak" Boxwood

I have several Morris Midget boxwoods that I am trying to train in this style. Do you prune branches back to one, two pairs of leaves? What time of year do you do it? Guide wires for training? Just like to know more about your process.

A few boxwood threads of mine that may help answer some of your questions.

I've been advised before lots of things that I supposedly cannot do...thankfully I didn't limit myself and did my own thing and tried other stuff anyway.

Thanks, I think my other question has to do with when to prune. Mine just had a flush of new growth, but they do this 2 or 3 times per year. I'm never sure when to start cutting back since in my climate they don't seem to go dormant at the times when other trees are.

I prune whenever it needs it.

People say boxwood grows slowly. I've never found that to be true. This one would put on eight inches every year if i allowed it to.

Maybe it grows slowly "up nawth."
