I am participating with 3 trees in this contest. The others are both 'itoigawa', one from cutting and another from airlayer:

The motherplant is one from a whole batch of trees I got from Gingko Bonsai in Belgium a few years ago. Over the years I have had 30 of their field-stock junipers in my garden, most of which have moved on. This one I kept to style for my own collection, and was trasferred into ceramic last spring, for styling this winter. Guess the styling will wait another year, while the selected branch is worked & layered.

An effort was made to bend this one into shape:

Then substrate was added around the area where I wish for roots to form, and the bark was punctured. In spring I will go i and see whether roots are staerting to form. If not, I might have to debark:

If you're succesful, I would like to have a talk.
I can't get them to root at all. My air layers are reaching four years in the moss now. :'(

Yes! If you beat my number of one succesful blaauw air layer a year (and 5-8 with no result, but that's not difficult to beat). I will get you a custom trophy saying "Boss of Blaauw" or something.
