Large Foemina juniper

Nice tree, lots of potential, looks like it wants to be a nice upright twin trunk...

I think it is a nice formal upright mother/daughter composition that should probably stay upright. The angle would be suitable if it were an informal upright with a curvy trunk, but for a tree like this it's best not to fight what it has naturally. You may even be able to shorten both trees and compact the entire scene to a more appropriate size. It already has nice bark and age to it, should be a fun one!

And you might consider shortening it just a bit. That might improve the image of taper and age.

My first reaction was a mother/daughter composition - tilt it 90 degrees to the right from the postion in the photo.

Hello Stacy..hmm seems like the general opinion here is to leave it as a straight forward upright mother daughter style. That is a good option and it seems that is what the tree is at a first glance. However, after seeing it wired, I think I can definitely see where you are going with it and I like it. I think it is more dramatic and I like the look of it. It seems to be more visually interesting now. The only thing I can offer is... to pull this style off, you may have to bend the upper portions of the both trunks back towards the right a bit.

I found these images... I think this is something like what you are going for..correct?

I really like design, and especially that tree october! Love the 'coastal' kinda misty feeling it invokes.

No comment on the general consensus to leave it as an upright...

Well, not a thing wrong with a traditional formal upright. However, I like your idea better. After I saw the tree wired, I knew where you wanted to go with this tree and, in my opinion, I prefer your idea. I know that a good/perfect informal upright is hard to come by. However, I like the character of a tree with movement. The way the tree was, doesn't really speak to me or convey a dramatic story. Your design tells of a tree that has a realtionship with it's surroundings.. Maybe on the side of a cliff or mountain, slanted by the elements.:D

Thanks again Rob I appreciate it.
Let me also say that I wasn't trying to be snobby to the others with the "No Comment" ,comment.
I just saw a different tree than some of the others...
