I am showing a picture of one of my larch that went crazy this spring with growth. It was about fertilizer pellets that I put on some trees to late obviously. The label on the bag of pellets said not to worry about applying to late. The plant involved would just pick up the excess in the spring and away it would go. That might work with some trees but definitely not larch. There are said to store all the spring fertilizing that they need and adding anymore turns them into this. I'm not sure what to do here. some of the growth is 4-6" long and nodes way far apart if any are even there. I would assume that I would cut back to the node where the growth started and let them start again, but I could easily be wrong. Advice and suggestions are appreciated, I always appreciate the help. Thank you.

Maybe use it as development for this year and cut back later (not sure on the timing, l haven’t had luck with larch) so you have a better start for next spring.???
