This Larch is not a Yamadori but a garden plant. I found this neglected tree in a granite planting pot and was able to purchse it, without knowing if the very weak tree would survive. The top of the main trunk and the big left side trunk was already dead.

Surprisingly a few weaks after repotting, buds appeared everywhere, even on the old an barky main trunk.

Two years later, this is the result. The species is a cultivar of Larix kaempferi with the name "Diana". It grows very funny twisted branches. The wood is exceptional brittle, you cannot bend branches older than two years, they are breaking like glass. So I decided two build the branches from the new buds and cut of the older remaining branches.

This photo is from last year. My goal was to integrate the big left branch, allthough it appears quite stiff.

This is an actual photo. Finally I decided to cut of the left branch and worked on the deadwood parts.
