BRT's can pop a bud from just about anywhere when she's vigorous and get's a hard prune.......

About 38 degrees this morning......BRT seemed ok...should be up in the 70's today, and for awhile going forward. Nights 45-55 degrees for same stretch, so I'll leave it out......

Was surprised to see these two little "buds".....



Yeah, a little colder than I liked, but should be ok.....I think.....maybe..... Trust me, the house ain't much warmer!!!

We've had frost warnings here for a couple days now.
Be careful for God's sake.

The leaves fold up and pout when stressed, hot or cold, and at night. Leaves are open, so I should be good, right?
Of course, the leaves that are dead/dying stay open too, but when they fold up and DON'T open.....then you've got a problem!!!

Lot's of rain yesterday, so container loaded up with water, and no sign of frost this morning on the cars, but it's not far off....seems the seasons are off by a month or so, temp wise.


Inside soon though, I'll monitor it closely, but for a tropical, these are pretty resilient. Not "hardy" per se, so yeah, I'll use caution....

Still patches of frost on the lawn right now and it looks like ice on my truck.
And it's 29 degrees.

Was just outside and it looks like it's gonna' be nice today, sun is strong.

I brought mine in yesterday, as we were mid 30's overnight. It's that time! Better to be early, mine seems to grow almost as much in the winter as the summer.

About right for here.
It's why you never see any pictures from me in te fall color threads. My trees have to grow as long as possible then go dormant almost overnight. We don't get nice autumn here. They only last for about a month then it's winter.

I didn't cut back when I brought it indoors. So that's why it's bushy.
I know you keep yours indoors year round, but any way you can get them outdoors would be for the best.
But they will grow indoors, just not as strong.

I Wish I could, have no outdoor space, but hoping to buy a new house next year so hopefully things will change!

Funny, my bigger one did the same thing. Dropped every leaf within a week or so inside, and is just now starting to grow again. The smaller one, that sits right beside it, never dropped a leaf.
