Kojo-no-mai styling advice

Hello,
I had the opportunity to buy this prunus jojo no mai last summer at very good price. I really like it nevertheless there are 2 strait sections of trunk that I really dislike with time (in red on the picture).

So I thought maybe trying airlyer the 2 Trunks at the green marks.
Do you guys have any advice or idea that comes to mind ?

I'd be inclined to prune those off anyway, so all you have to lose is time.
