Just wondering if anyone else is playing with key lime trees? I have 3 of them I have been growing from seed for about 3.5 years. They are my only tropicals and come inside when the temps drop below 50. Not even under lights just sit by a sliding glass door facing SE. They fade a little and drop a few leaves but as soon as it gets warm and they go outside again they take off. I am really liking the bark and they back bud like mad. They have all been growing in this larger sized pot for 2.5 years and next spring I am going to do some root work and get some nebari cooking. I figure another 4 or 5 years before they make it into a bonsai pot.

I do have one.....It is a huge scale magnet. It's to ugly to post. The scale seems impervious to my normal method of control i.e. neem oil or diluted simple green. This scale doesn't seem to attack my other stuff. This spring I put it into free draining substrate and blasted it with insecticide all summer. I may have fixed it. Winter in a chilly greenhouse will tell the tale.

No, but let me know if you get some key lime pie cooking!

I do have one baby growing. If I get seeds, I seem to have to plant them! I have also been growing kumquats for several years now. The bark and growing habits are similar. Haven't really done any work on them yet, however, they do get to stay outside all year here. Just this year some of them bloomed for the first time. No fruit.
