Kanorin's chunks of fired mud

OK people, tell me what I need to know about re-glazing and re-firing a few pieces where the glaze did not come out nicely. I'm firing in a gas kiln, cone 9-10.

In one piece I probably just needed to do a longer dip, so I'll ideally just use the same glaze again. In another piece, I used a new combination that I thought would turn out blue, but ended up brown and I don't know what happened there (maybe the same issue or maybe it just was in a weird spot in the kiln?). For this second one I might try a new glaze or apply an additional coat of one of the previous glazes...waiting for some feedback before I make that decision.

Are there certain glazes that stick better during a re-fire?

Refiring can be a challenge -- only in getting new glaze to stick to old non porous surfaces. I usually have to apply it several times in small amounts-- let it dry and add some more. Then refire. It is wise to go a little slower with the heat gain with refired pots in the kiln, but many people will high fire multiple times.
