I got this a year ago. Just a little starter tree! Its not much i know. But i’m wanting to repot this into better free drainage soil as its in compost and staying far too wet.

Can i repot this now or better wait until the candles open up fully?

Ok thats me gone ahead with the repot. The roots where circling the pot quite alot. But i did not cut any roots just removed the outer root ball and reduced it. Leaving some soil around the nebari.

I'd personally create a mound around those roots. They might need some time to adjust to the open air and the new substrate.
If they dry out now and you lose them, you'll also lose the nebari.

Just my 2 cents. I'm pretty clueless about white pine.
