Okay understatement of the year. Should I nip the growth? Thanks.I'd hardly call the damage I can see in the photo harmless. I would just look closely at the entire jade and manually remove the worm or worms.View attachment 607257
Just pick it up and put it in the garden. Why kill it?Okay I’ll use neems oil
why would you?Should I nip the growth?
Now a few times already it feels like you are using some chatGTP to come up with answers. This answer is so far off base that I wonder why?If the critters are small and just crawling around the surface or leaves, they could be fungus gnats, springtails, or some kind of mite. Most of these are harmless to jade unless they multiply a lot.
If your jade looks healthy and the bugs aren’t causing damage, no need to panic. Just keep soil on the dry side, and avoid overwatering.
- Springtails – Tiny, white or gray, and jump when disturbed. Harmless, like moisture.
- Fungus gnats – Small black flies. Their larvae live in wet soil. Reduce watering to control them.
- Spider mites – Very tiny, might leave webbing. Can damage leaves. Use insecticidal soap if needed.

Check the timing too; two minutes between sharply formulated answers on entirely different threads. As far as I know, I'm one of the few people adding dashes for readability in a spoken-word-type-of-writing on this entire forum and this guy makes them extra long like AI does. Now a few times already it feels like you are using some chatGTP to come up with answers. Too late. I wrote the head nut earlier today asking to look into a bot posting. The account is gone. The guy is either posting AI generated answers or a full on bot. @Bonsai Nut can you have a look?
Yeah, I noticed it right after posting that all traces have been removed.
That was thorough! I should've made AI do the typing for me, I would've been on time!
Also, I found another person using a dash in a sentence - so I'm not the only one! I stand self-corrected!
