Today I made some prunning and carving in my schinus. Am I improving or worsening it?

I think it is an improvement although personally probably wouldn’t have taken it quite that far.

Once you start carving it is hard to stop sometimes :)

Since the face has teeth, I reckon the moves do too.

I think the taper is improved, though I'd be hesitant to say carving more live wood (seems) on a tree already so hollowed is slightly risky.

So I guess I've made a highly risky "improvement". Now I'm going to limesulfur it!!
Thanks for your feedback!

Make sure you wire your branches and develop a good branch structure - so that you develop your ramification and give proper character to the branching.

Right now you are pruning your bonsai like a topiary - trimming the branches so they fit into a design outline. It is ok to do this in the short term if your branches are already developed, but bad to do this if you are still laying out your primary branch structure. You don't want to work on your tree like this for five years and suddenly realize you have to replace all the branches because they are bad - because they leave the trunk at the wrong angle or are ramrod straight or don't have any taper. Additionally the time to correct bar branches, crossing branches, etc, is when they are small... not when you have left them on the tree too long and the correction will leave a big scar.

Cool tree you have there!
For just a year into this, you have some great stuff. 👍

Sometimes it is necessary to go backwards to move forwards. In bonsai it is often a good move to remove thick parts to promote new growth to replace it.

In this case you have not done a lot. Looks like a light trim and carve off some bark that was already dead and maybe a tiny live section. The changes are an improvement but the overall tree does not have real impact for viewers IMHO
