Goodness I wish I lived somewhere like that. We have all four seasons and they are thorough. Winter is cold, spring is actually kind of nice here, then summer comes around with blistering heat and it hardly ever rains. Once fall comes around, it's still hot as hell during the day, then at night Temps drop immensely. I hate living here, I don't understand why my trees do so good lol I would think regular 50° temperature swings would have them wondering what to do, yet they always do just fine.
Maybe I should move to Costa rica!

Come on down!! It would be cool to have an english speaking friend here. Im one of very few gringos here, in this part of CR. Im 10 minutos from Panamá! Global warming doesnt seem to effect much here, or maybe its in our favor. Rainy season seems to be getting longer, it was 1 1/2 mont early this year (and welcome by me, if not the farmers). Growing season is all the time here.
I enjoy pruning my sticks in pots. Idk why anyone wouldnt. I dont want to just look at them! Besides, mine are all prebonsai at best so pruning and growing out are normal and needed here. I enjoy all the bonsai related stuff that I do, collecting, potting, watering, pruning and just looking at them. Going to the nursery is a good time too, even though there are no bonsai. Ive been invited to make them to sell in nurseries, but I lack the experiance and material.
Someday Id love to have trees like yours, Jerry! My excuse is only torturing trees for a year now, and not having bonsai stock available.
So anyone.who wants to come down for vacation or to stay is welcome by me! Bring books, pots, tools, and maybe seeds (hide them from la migra people who will steel and plant them). And bug repelent, sunscrean, thick skin, and paciance!!
And speaking español helps if you like to have local friends!!
