Desert O'Piñon
Omono
I snagged a half dozen leftovers in nearly-dead condition in late November a couple years ago. I planted them in my flowerbed and now I have mounds of lush greenery all summer, but this one started blooming a month ago.
I remember reading about some ancient Chinese silk paintings of chrysanthemum bonsai. I've often considered trying it out for myself. Is there any specific method for rooting cuttings, or is it pretty standard?
It does indeed seem like a legitimate way to learn a little bit about pruning and styling (cut and grow?) more quickly while growing out real trees and learning how to nurture them according to their growth habits.
